Q: So many people tell me to journal and I don't understand why I should, can you explain?
A: Journaling is a writing method that I have used consistently and successfully for many years. In working with clients and myself, journaling has helped identify blocks, fears, and other personal and professional issues impacting one’s success to move forward toward goals. May I suggest you try it - for 30 days - and see the difference in your life.
Q: At 6 am, I'm at a loss for words, what do you suggest I write about when I journal in the morning?
A:
Write whatever comes to your mind for at least 10-15 minutes.
Keep the pen to the paper even if you draw a blank.
You will find the flow of consciousness begins to unfold as you journal
consistently each day. Allow the
words to flow naturally, expressing your thoughts and feelings, and even
giving direction to situations you once thought were impossible to consider.
If you're still at a loss, try some of the questions offered in the Journal
Gems Newsletter found at this website or try my book "How To Live and
Work Your Passion" with a series of questions to journal on at the end of
each chapter.
Q: My creativity is stifled working in a boring corporate job. Will journaling help me?
A: Absolutely! May I suggest you start with Julia Cameron's book The Artist Way. Her morning pages and artist dates will begin to spark some creativity in your life. Her chapters will help you reclaim your creative self. In addition, please return to this website for my monthly newsletter - Journaling Gems - for additional ideas to journal about as you progress, or consider participating in one of my creative teleclasses.
