Slow Down?

Are you on the run? Pulling up into a no parking zone (or double parked maybe?) when a parking spot is just 10 feet away? Or are you running out the door with barely a coat and spilling a quick cup of coffee while you forget to lock the door? All so you can speed along the highway at 75+mph to get someplace that you may or may not want to be?

As I witness people daily, speeding along, not paying attention, text messaging at high speeds, gulping coffee and creating road rage, I ask myself “why?” What’s the hurry? Are you interested in smelling the flowers? Or looking at the beautiful trees as they delight us in autumn color? Gee... maybe you’ll notice something you haven’t ever noticed before?

If so… slow down and enjoy the journey since life is to be savored, enjoyed, treasured.

As we approach the close of 2007, give thanks for all that you have and all that is yet to come. For our purpose is to travel our journey, so when we arrive with well worn shoes, we have savored all that life has given us - and then some.

Thank you for your love, support and friendship in 2007. May the new year be filled with joy and may you find a song for your spirit to sing.
